A handís on Christmas gift
I have a Christmas gift idea to share that keeps on working for families filled with small children for years. Discovering its charm and power was a joint thing the wife and I shared with our children.
Now, surmising I share more board space here with grand parents than parents alone, maybe this would communicating gift for you children to share with their children in turn.
It had started out with Frieda sewing button eyes, a darned nose onto the toe of a railroad sock.. Then slipping it over the hand forming an open mouth between the fingers and thumb she had made an inexpensive hand puppet. BUT, the best was yet to come. Children sometimes have trouble communicating with parents. It was quit interesting what several hand puppets had told me over the years that their possessors individual manipulators could not tell me for themselves. Frieda and I found Mr. Sock, Toe Man, Heel (I didnĎt get into that name), and others.
If I remember correctly a shy Edgar Bergen had asked Candice Bergenís mother for her hand in marriage through Charlie McCarthy. It worked for Edger, it worked for some of our kids.
And remember, send the puppet to the child and write the instruction manual to the parent. Only nine more shoplifting days before until Christmas.
