We have quite a few ducks, chicks, chickens, a big hen and rooster. This rooster has started to attack me when I go to feed my other critters. I have kicked his cock-a-doodle-do right out of him. Now he is picking big time on the hen. The only thing we can figure out is when he goes to mate he is playing heck with his spurs. We separate them at night but it doesn't help during the day. Tonight when I went down to the barns the poor hen's right side under the wing is just too horrific to describe. What do we do? My suggestions was to shoot him. Dennis said to ask first. So I am asking. Also my next batch that we were told were all pullets has a rooster in the bunch. How do I prevent him from doing the same thing when he gets to that stage? As usual I appreciate any and all help.
