It had been my intent to get a tankless water heater (propane). You know, the one demand types. Lowes had a 5gpm one with my name on it. Then I let my subcontractor and plumber talk me out of it because the plumber said it wouldn't keep up with my ginormous ofuro tub. Didn't make sense to me since it was an ON DEMAND water heater but I bowed to his 'experience' and got an 80gallon hot water tank (propane). While it is efficient it is the LOUDEST thing in my little house in the woods. It sounds like a freight train and the most inopportune times. Should have gone with the on demand system.

To add insult to injury, another person surmises the plumber with an eye on profit margin talked me out of the on demand system because he could make more selling me a HWtank.
