My mom is 92 and comes to stay with us each summer. Every place she has ever lived had a Senior Citizens center where there was a lunch every week day or that could provide meals-on-wheels and even provided transportation to and from the center. Mom loves to go to these centers for the socializing.

I was shocked to learn that neither Houston or Harris county TX has any thing similar. There is basically nothing remotely similar here for Senior Citizens.

Are other large metropolitan areas the same? Is this just a small town thing?
