Well, you know I have had to change my diet, and it has become a little more expensive with some items, like Splenda instead of sugar. But, that being the case, I have to be even thriftier. I made a chefs salad with garlic bread on the side the other night, lets see:

Loaf of Italian bread: 99 cents
Green leaf lettuce 99 cents
Eggs: Free, of course
Turkey and Chicken: 2.50
Moz cheese: 1.00
celery, cucumber, tomato, about 1.50
fresh mushrooms: 1.00

Already had salad dressings so that doesnt count, so, I fed, me, Shelby, Ian, and a friend that was over (a guy, eats more, lol) for eight dollars, not too bad. Everybody had heaping plates.

A regular meal around here:

Rotisserie chicken (I have a rotisserie oven, cheaper than buying them already cooked) 2.50

Wheat rolls: 75 cents

Fresh green beans: 1.00

Potatoes:about 75 cents worth out of a ten pound bag

corn: 50 cents worth

Five dollars and 50 cents, not too bad. :)
