Alberta Mike- Last I knew warts were a result of a persisting virus infection. They get worse 'till the body immune system, or medical assistance, gets rid of 'em and the virus.

Sounds like time to stop fiddling around and get the kid some relief, and also stop what might be bad implications of allowing the situation to continue.

Painful... You bet! But, ponder that a dentist can shoot something into the gums and make that whole part of the face numb and pain insensitive for hours. Cosmetic surgeons routinely do drastic cutting on that part of the body.

Last time I went thru this was in the 70's, with a persistant wart along side a fingernail. The doc did a local injection that numbed my hand, then used some kinda electric arc gadget and burned the whole thing out, leaving a big hole. But, after a while it grew shut and I ain't had any wart problems since then. Can't tell by looking which finger it was now.

I've also seen and heard of cryogenic surgery, where the wart is frozen by applying a super cold object (dry ice, liquid nitrogen, ???), causing the area under and around the wart to blister and the wart and surrounding tissue to fall out in a few days.

My point is that fiddling around runs up the medical bills and could be harmful to the child. Please ponder the last paragraph. Good luck, IHank
