We have a family of six living in our backyard. Try the link below as it suggests some ways of getting rid of them humanely and keeping them away. We'll try filling in the den (again) first and these suggestions before trying a live trap. Also, I read on an American site that a permit may be needed to destroy a skunk as it is a fur bearing animal, I don't know if this is the case in Canada.
