Dream Weaver- Re-read these posts tomorrow, after you've had some coffee and got woke up good.

What you say about drying out and weeping makes good sense with my experiences. For a long time now when I have skin contact with petroleum base stuff, and don't get it vigouously washed off right away, I end up with a nasty and almost never ending skin sore.

Long ago a doctor said it was empatigo (sp) and told me to treat it with neosporin and cover with a bandage. I did. The sore spread like wild fire all over my arm!

After that I noticed that Neosporin is 90 some percent petroleum jelly, with some other stuff and a little bit of antibiotic medication.

I learned the "hard way" to make multiple folds in a piece of paper towel and cover a sore. The paper towel keeps out dirt and infection potentials, but more importantly it acts as a "wick" and pulls ??? crud out of the sore, speeding healing.

Trouble is the sticky stuff in the tape creates new sores!

Keep posting your wisdoms gal! Big grin and big hug back to 'ya, IHank
