Barn Swallows build there nest in the barns so to speak they like to have ledges, tops of light lixtures ect. They use a grass, stick mud type of nest. Cliff Swallows build them out of mud only under the eaves and we had over 100 of them build there nests at our place this year. Wrens are mean and will plug up nests and do it to many and use just one. I do not like them to much. You need a water and mud sourse for the Barn Swallows and Clift Swallows to come around.
