Hi Mr. Roberts,

if the cloth was not properly cleaned or if it absorbed any chemicals ( usually lubricating oils) before it was dyed or the dye was not properly set (usually a fairly high temperature process), it will have a short life or easily be washed out. if both blue shirts came from the same manufacture that might be a clue. on the other hand alot of things happen to clothing during the day that you might not notice. bleaches, acids, you name it.
