G'day. I've just found your friendly site, and thought I might visit sometimes when I've got the time. The chook thread has caught my eye so I thought I'd say hello. Now that you know what a chook is I thought I'd mention that its pronunciation rhymes with "book"...a friend in Michigan thought it rhymed with "spook". We also call them chickens and hens down here but I prefer "chooks". (I spent a year in NW Arkansas when I was younger and loved the place...lived on a chook farm.)
