Hey, I just got a rooster with the same problem, but we've been slowly working on it, cause he's like a small dog to the family. What I do is stick him in the barn, cut off his light until WE wake up (without his help). Normally it works, but if not, I find that he only makes ALOT of noise when he's pirched on something higher than the ground. Keep him at ground level and see if that does anything. They aren't very active at night, so the darker it is, the better. ;-) Any other tips, please email me!

p.s. We don't have any hens. I hear it makes the quieter if you do. True? I'd like to know!
