I'll probably get hammered for this, but...

DR's are GROSSLY overpriced. They are the Harley Davidson of lawn care. You're paying for a name. If they spent half as much on engineering as they do on advertising, maybe they'd be worth it. I've worked on every DR trimmer in a 5 mile radius, and I own a Craftsman. I paid $250 for a machine that works all the time, DR owners paid $800 plus for a machine that's broke all the time.

If you are looking for a hand-held trimmer, the same folks that make good chainsaws make good trimmers. Stihl and Husky.

My opinion, of course, your mileage may vary...
