Hi I have spent some time on draglines. Mine was a 22B Bucyrus Erie. Its all about pendulum's. working with swing and not fighting the clutches.
They are a very demanding machine attention wise, but if you are persistant, you will get the hang of it. First thing learn how to release the haul clutch so if the bucket catches on to something it can't pull, you can release it. Otherwise it will pull the machine over. No big deal! Don't let this scare you! What kind of a machine do you have? Presently I have a P&H. I rebuilt the control systems but the machine is in very good condition. I also have a HD20 and a 260 like yourself. I live in southern Alberta. good luck! Mike
