I have a skunk motel under my shed. I get rid of one, then another one or more move right in. I've tried smoking them out (you gotta be careful because where there's smoke, there's something burning) using a rodent smoke bomb called Revenge which claims to control gophers, moles, woodchucks, rats, SKUNKS, and ground squirrels. I put the smoke bomb inside a flexible metal hose type thing I bought for my pellet stove, lit the fuse, then snaked the thing into their access hole. Then I waited & watched the little bit of smoke come out the sides of the shed, then waited for the alternate bad smell of decomposing skunk. (Never smelt it) I also used a have a heart trap which I used to relocate the squirrels which were eating up all the good stuff from the bird seed. I was fighting a losing battle trying to get rid of the squirrels because my good neighbor Mary was feeding peanuts to the squirrels (I think the skunks moved in to feast on Mary's peanuts). I would bring the trapped squirrels to work in the morning and let 'em loose. I never trapped the same squirrel twice. The one time I trapped a skunk (thinking it was a squirrel), I threw an old towel over the trap, pulled the trap onto a large piece of cardboard, poked the end of a bungie cord through the cardboard, hooked the end of the cord with a garden hoe, then dragged the whole contraption out to my waiting pickup truck, lifted everything into the bed of the truck, then drove off to find the nearest wooded area to deposit the skunk. The darned thing was a piece of work to get it out of the trap. When it finally shook out, it looked around, didn't give me any problem, and waddled away. Just an hour ago I squirted ammonia under the shed. It's March 3rd. The ground is still frozen. I'm ready to nuke them next time.
