DC, everything on a magneto is straightforward to
repair and replace except the magnet. You have points
and condensor and a coil. All are easy to replace if you
have a parts source (the IHC F12 that I did was
available). However, if the magnet is weak, you will
have to recharge the magnet and that takes a special
setup. Not too difficult to build, but a lot of work for
fixing a single magneto. I opted to take mine to the only
magneto repair expert within 100 miles and pay him
$35 to recharge the magnet.

The archives on will turn up a magnet
recharging setup if you are interested in going it alone.
