They take them apart and clean them, inspect for cracked welds, etc., they replace the bearing with a highter quality them the original manuf.,replace the nut and washer, replace brake parts if the have them. Law here in Texas says the axles have to be done this way to go back under a new trailer house. This info from State Trooper. I just might get an old one and compare it to a regular axle. He said these are engineered and tested to be a one way axle. Although I have seen many new trailer houses on the side of the road with axle/wheel problems, and believe me they build a ton of them around here. I'm no expert, but I do know what it is like to have your trailer pass you! If you have good luck with them I would think as long as you kept them packed and a high quality bearing in them they would be o.k. Myself I would not even dare use them again. Johnny in E.Tx
