Hi sHan, I know the feeling. Eventually you'll get to the point where you can find her in a hurry, practically no matter what. One trick: don't look for the single queen, look for the circle of bees around her...they "act different" when they're near the queen, and it is a whole lot easier to see a knot of several dozen bees than a single one. One thing that helped me a lot, though many folks think it sounds bad: We kept an observation hive in our living room for years. I mounted it with a tube through the outside wall so the bees could come and go and work. It was a great conversation piece, and a great learning tool...we all spent many hours year-round watching the bees work, and it helped me learn to find the queen easier. good luck, Tom a
