I had one of the Ryobi cordless weedeaters for a few years. The battery was fine after intermittent use in that time. I just hate trimming weeds, so I didn't use it a lot. I could probably trim around 10 or 15 trees and a little around the house before it would die. You could try one and see how it works for you. After the 3 or 4 years and me realizing my yard was just way to big for it, I finally cleaned it up real nice and sold it on ebay. I believe it brought $40 or more. Considering I bought it new for something like $86, I was happy. My only real complaint would be that you have to push on the trigger lock with your thumb. After doing this for 10 or 15 minutes, it can leave a mark. That, and the battery is pretty heavy compared to a corded electric trimmer. I would say go for it, if you can normally take care of your weeds in 15 minutes or less. Otherwise, plan on breaking up your weed wacking into 2 day segments.
