I guess being just 18 miles from Daisetta, it is big news here. The little town is built over salt domes and no one knows how this one collapse will effect the town. One of my best friends and her husband live about three blocks from the giant hole. This all happened since 10:00am yesterday!

I guess us living in the "oilfield" area we think everyone should know about salt domes. I think but am not sure, that they are left after oil well drilling takes the oil out. That is my "simple" understanding of them! But then I am a simple girl! ;-)
