I asked the pilot about F 104s versus F 4s.He told this story.They conducted some sort of exercises against F 104s.He said one pilot was kind of an odd guy. So after the thing was done they set to watch the gun cameras pictures.When the funny pilots pictures rolled there was nothing but black for awhile,Then you saw the exhaust of an F 104 come in to view.The guy nearly nosed into the back end of a 104 with his F4.I don't think the F 104s did very well against the F4 from the tale I heard. This pilot is now in a wheelchair.He had to pop out of an F 111 after the war.He was really a fun guy to talk to.
