excess what the parents do in moderation. The elderly can look at the younger generation and shake their head all they want but, they should look into the mirror and shake their heads a bit too. They have been handed plenty! Social Security, Medicare are just two of the ways they also have been spoiled by the give me attitude. Just a few generations ago, there was no such thing. Nobody retired or expected their medicine to be paid for by someone else. That's where the younger people got the idea in the first place. From watching mom and dad with their hand out so hey, that must be the way it is. "I'll just get in line with my hand out too and let my kids pay the bill". Some old folks will say "hey I paid into social security, that's mine." You paid in pennies and now get dollars and the next generation will foot the bill. And by the way, your employer paid in half or better and that is just one more reason it is so difficult for businesses in the US to make a go of it. Yes, it should have been managed better, and yes at some point it will have to end because of the mismanagement and "dipping into the till" by every politician that came along. I think anyone who can see where they are able to change a few things and then be willing to make those changes before the "roof falls in" is doing pretty good. At least better than the majority. What would you do if the SS check gets alot smaller or doesn't show up at all?
