The thing about the language issue is more about people's ideas of the French more than anything. Especially around the time we entered Iraq, remember "Freedom Fries"? We would go out to Eastern Washington and meet people whose first comment to him would be," We saved your a** in WWII" He took it a little badly, and it was hard for people to get the idea that he had nothing to do with what the French government did. Also, people associate everything French with elitist intellectuals. Things have calmed down now.

We love the East side, btw. We would love to live there, but maybe in the Palouse, near WSU, or Ellensburg. The people out there are great, politics and all. I mean, who doesn't hate Gregoire??
