Had several bad experience with the Red Cross, beginning with my Dad (career Army sergeant) in hospital in the mid-60s through my own dealings with them as a Commander on behalf of my troops. I have nothing good to say about the Red Cross, although I still gave blood regularly until they cut off anybody stationed in Europe during the 80s (that's another story).

As far as AAFES goes, I'd say we should all call/write our representatives in Congress and ask them to investigate price gouging in theatre. I plan to call mine, as he sits on the House Armed Services Committee.
