I think that everyone should be able to do all of the above. I also believe that it never really happens. My daughter and wife do most of the housework. My son and I do most of the outdoor, carpentry, and mechanical work. Everyone can cook and do from time to time. My daughter changes the oil in my car that she drives, rotates the tires, washes and waxes, and other maintenance.

I believe that all people should be as self sufficient as possible but division of labor requires that someone be in charge, and as such do most of the work. JTWLI
