one inch of rain

There was a display at Ag Progress days one year that said one inch of rain was equal to 27,500? gallons of water per acre. (I don't remember the exact number but, if you were to carry water to your 1/4 acre garden to equal that, it would take 1,375 5 gallon buckets full. Makes me tired just thinkin about it. I hope this is country enough. The threads about rain and creeks rising got me to remembering this little tidbit.
