By all means. For farm chores my choise is a Polaris with an automatic transmission. I own a 500 Sportsman. Traveling over rough farm land is a smooth ride. Stop and Go with long idle time doesn't heat up the water cooled engine. The size is big enough to tote shovels, axes, etc. on the front, with a large tool chest on the back plus a 15gal hand spray rig behind the seat. It will outrun a horse while checking fence. Most of the time it won'y run off while working on broken fences either. Not recommended, but you can stand or sit side saddle while operating it in difficult situations. We've even roped cattle off of it. It's worth every penney it cost.
