Whizzer! Yep! Memories here! As a kid in the mid '50's, I had a Whizzer "Sportsman" model. The unit was special assembly using a special beefed up Schwinn 20" bike frame, painted bright red with some pinstripping and quite a bit of chrome, a real telescoping front suspension system, motorcycle type seat, knobby tires, speedometer, motorcycle type controls, kick start, and caliper rim brakes front and rear, and it was fast. Forty-five plus was not hard to do at all. Actually, it was a mini-motorcycle of the time. I cannot recall just what happened to it, although I think it got traded in (by Dad) on a Cushman "Eagle" with a box sidecar so I could run service calls after school for my Dad's electrical contracting business. But boy, I sure do remember having fun with the Whizzer! Anybody else remember these?
