For a corral we used 3-rail PVC fencing. It is 5 years old and looks as good as the first day we installed it. Horses won't eat it and they can lean on it and it springs back. Just use lots of concrete in the post holes!! It costs about $4 per foot but over a 5 year period you will replace a lot of wood if your horses are part beaver like mine!! Also get a good brand name, we used Bufftech.
