I never was much for football. I'd rather waste time. But some of the music is great. I always liked Notre Dame...to get beat. Never could understand the fascination with that school and its usually overrated football teams. But the Notre Dame fight music is great. My pianist plays that tune as part of a medley when we do grand marches at my square dances.
At the place I work there are two alums of Merrimac College (Mass), including the CEO. One of them, not the CEO, tells me that their fight song went like this: "Oh Merrimac, Oh Merrimac, I wish I had my money back." - to the tune of Oh Christmas Tree.
