Yep, got 'em here in Central Texas, too. Austin's fast becoming a film-"mecca" and the outlying areas, like the one where I live, are used quite often. As I type, "Spy Kids 2" is being filmed right across my back fence at Krause's Springs. Krause's is a popular spot to film outdoorsy-camping-type scenes as it's beautiful down there. It can also be closed to the public and there's enough room to film without putting anyone out.

Just up the road about 10 miles is Luck, Texas, Willie Nelson's western-town movie set (he named it Luck because he figures after the IRS mess a few years back he's damn lucky to still have it ;-). They're always filming a movie, TV series or music video over there.

So far the crews haven't posed a problem. Maybe it's because the Texas Film Commission welcomes them with open arms and a stern "be neighborly to the natives" attitude.
